Meander
The genome's guardians, the proteins that keep chromosomes intact: the centromere that defines them, the telomeres that cap them, and the repair and topology machinery that keeps them from tangling or breaking. Each piece unwinds one guardian in turn, its own coding sequence traced off the double helix as a single meandering line.
